Mphasis Calendar events are held in all boroughs or counties of our region (Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, Rockland, Putnam) and beyond (New Jersey, Connecticut). Some events are marked ? when location is To Be Announced. All Mensa members and accompanied guests are welcome at all calendar events unless otherwise indicated in the listing. Young Mensan events are for Mensans age 18 and under only. Children are required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all Mensa events, including Young Mensan events. Proof of Mensa membership is required for all GNYM-sponsored events.

Come one, come all to our popular annual GNYM Valentine & New Member potluck social! This is your chance to rub shoulders and minds with some of our newest members, and reconnect with some of our oldest. We request all attendees bring a food or non-alcoholic beverage item to share (enough for 4+) plus we'll have some supplementary food and soft drinks for all - otherwise, both members and guests are FREE!
Board meeting BEFORE from 1-2:30 if you want to see how our chapter runs (check it out if you have any ideas for us and/or want to volunteer!). The party officially runs from 2:30-5:30, then we transition to all-night Strategy Gaming until midnight! Bring your favorite games, and/or play ours.

Azerbaijani Music: discussion and performance by Jon Liechty
•The Republic of Azerbaijan is a former Soviet republic located on the Western shore of the Caspian Sea. It is known in the West for its oil exports, but its rich musical culture has only recently begun to attract attention. Jon Liechty will be playing and discussing a number of songs by Azerbaijani composers.
•American composer and pianist Jon Liechty has performed in Baku, Azerbaijan, London, Brussels, New York, Chicago, Miami, Seattle, Vancouver, and other places. He has appeared on Azerbaijani National Television, and his work has been discussed in Azerbaijan International magazine.
